Starting Something new.
The recipe goes something like this:
First you take a step, then one more. Repeat.
Those a little more sophisticated may follow the recipe as follows:
Deep breathe, step, pause, adjust, recalibrate. Repeat.
Trying new things can be hard. Doing this is hard. And yet I feel most alive when trying new things. The growing and stretching is invigorating. The discomfort jolts me out of complacency. Not always. Sometimes I thrash against change and resist the discomfort and rail like a fish on a hook in despair. But not today. Today I took the step. And isn’t today all I have?
